BOX

You only get one chance to make a first impression, and the first impression of your game is often the box. A great box can give the game characters a stable home and makes your game stand out on a shelf.

Every box at Sunday is custom-made and we offer a variety of thicknesses and finishes to make your box look and feel great. You’ll want a box that’s large enough to contain all of the components without being too big. Pro tip: Make sure your box is at least 15mm larger in each dimension than your largest component so players can easily remove each piece. Your SG Project Manager will work with you to determine the best box size for your game.

GAME BOXES

A game box isn’t just packaging. It’s the first thing players touch—and the last thing you want arriving dented.

Different games need different box builds. A light card game doesn’t need the same structure as a mini-heavy strategy title. We help you choose the right format so your components fit cleanly, ship safely, and still look good after real play.

Choose the Right Structure

Rigid Boxes

If your game has weight—boards, minis, thick punchboards—rigid boxes keep their shape and protect corners during shipping and storage. They’re also the go-to option when the box needs to feel premium in hand.

Corrugated Boxes

When shipping performance and weight control matter, corrugated structures do the job without overbuilding. E- and F-flute options are commonly used for larger formats and export-heavy projects.

Folded Paperboard Boxes

For lighter titles and compact products, folded paperboard boxes keep costs under control while staying clean and sharp on print.

Fit Players Notice

A box can look great and still feel wrong if components slide around. We size the box around your component set—boards, cards, minis, inserts—so everything sits where it should and arrives the same way.

Finishes That Earn Their Place

Not every project needs every effect. We apply finishes where they help: better durability, better handling, or a stronger premium signal.

Options include UV coating, foil stamping, embossing, and linen textures—chosen to match your positioning and how the product will be used.

Formats and Openings

Need a non-standard size? You don’t have to start from scratch. We support a wide range of existing box setups to reduce tooling time and keep schedules predictable.

Different opening styles are available, including magnetic closures when you want a more deliberate unboxing feel.
